1978-1979 Ford Bronco

I wrote the other review on 12/21/2021. I am so so happy with my steering box! This “Bronco” box lives on my SAS’d Tacoma that sees plenty of street use. The box I had on previously was just a re-man unit I bought from RockAuto. The play in the steering wheel was enormous and even when that box was “new” I couldn’t keep the truck tracking straight down the highway. I could move the steering wheel from 10 to 2 and not have any movement at the wheels. In all honesty it was probably down right dangerous.

I feel like I’m driving in a brand new truck with this new RedHead box! I should have bought this years ago. I didn’t know what I was missing. No leaks, no play. Just perfect. If you’re on the fence about getting a steering box from these guys, just do it!

I haven’t yet installed the box but I am very excited to do so. I checked for play in the new box and am happy that I found none (I didn’t doubt these guys, I just like tinkering with things). One thing that I feel should be added to the description on the website is that the hydro assist ports already come with the AN adapter installed (-6, in my case). I bought some 1/4”NPT X -6AN adapters separately from another retailer that I’ll have to return. My mistake, I should have asked RedHead about that before ordering but I think it’d be good to add that to the description.
